Nursing Scholarship Program 2012 Application Cycle Opens Today

The 2012 application cycle for the Nursing Scholarship Program (NSP) opens today. The NSP, a program of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, provides scholarships to nursing students in exchange for a service commitment at an eligible health care facility located in a primary care or mental health Health Professional Shortage Area also known as a Critical Shortage Facility (CSF).

While in school, NSP participants receive tuition and fees, an annual payment for other reasonable costs, and a monthly stipend to cover living expenses. This year, the program is adapting to the increasing demand for nurse practitioners by reserving up to half of the award funds for students pursuing a master’s level nurse practitioner degree.

Deadline to apply is May 8th, 2012
